What's new with the family
July the 3rd, 2010
Each year on the July the 3rd, we go out on our little deck and watch fireworks set-off from the neighborhood across the way. I have no idea why they are on the third or how that neighborhood can afford such nice fireworks, but they are enjoyable enough that the next day I feel no need to drive anywhere to see more. Here are some shots from this year.

Waiting on the deck for the night to get dark enough. Notice the red brake lights of the passing car (as well as stars) with the long exposure. It was much darker looking than this.
Palm tree.
My favorite.
Part of the finale.

Those turned out really well! That was the first firework show Luke ever got to see! Yes, I agree- it’s a great show! How great to be able to step right out your back door to that!

I think the first picture is my favorite, or maybe the 5th, or the 6th. Or maybe the 4th. Or, maybe I’m just amazed at the great pictures you took. They actually communicate some of the real feel of fireworks.
